Millers Point Renovation

Project Description

2018 House Renovation Millers Point

This project included conservation and interior design works to this 1840s terrace house in Millers Point. The house is state heritage listed but is also located within a heritage conservation area.

Prior to the works, the house had lost a lot of the original character. The basement sandstone walls were covered in cement render, cove cornices and other cheap and poorly thought out finishes had been applied throughout. A lot of restoration and conservation works were carried out but in a thoughtful way so as to avoid faux applications within the dwelling. Works to the house included a new kitchen and reconfiguration of the basement level to allow an internal bathroom and laundry. The dining room was carefully designed to include hidden lighting to illuminate the sandstone walls which were carefully exposed by hand by removing the cement render. Layers of paint were also removed to restore the hardwood details throughout the house. A new polished concrete slab was installed.

Standout Features

  • Polished concrete floors
  • Sandstone restoration works
  • Stainless steel benchtops
  • Timber veneer joinery
  • Terazzo tiling
  • Marble in bathroom
  • Harwood skirting timber works through out. Some new and some restored
  • Steel doors

2015 Woollahra ‘Hidden kitchen’ Project saw the renovation of this 1900’s Victorian Terrace. The team at Minosa Design redesigned the space with a ‘Parisian’ feel to meet the clients style and brief.

Parisian styled wall panelling painted brilliant white and a modern take on the traditional herringbone timber floor were the main French influences. Vaucluse Bathroom

Project Description

2015 Main Bathroom Renovation in Vaucluse, Sydney.

Featured in the Home Design Magazine Annual Collector’s Edition 2015, the Vaucluse bathroom renovation required a full reconfiguration of its design to improve both functionality and design aesthetics.

The beauty of a neutral bathroom that focuses on the basics is that the colour scheme can be altered with ease using soft furnishings and décor items – Home Design Magazine

Apartment renovations can often be tricky in regards to available space and structural limitations, this bathroom was no different with the team at Minosa having to recreate the layout and flow of this bathroom to ensure functionality was achieved.

the original toilet was directly in front of the door and the first thing you would see upon entry, which meant the door was mostly closed; the real success of this design apart from the design aesthetic is the function, now on entry you see the vanity and from a function perspective this is the centre of the space – Minosa

Standout Features

  • Carrara Marble Niche & Undermount Bath
  • White Matte Wall Tiles
  • Timber-Look Floor Tiles
  • Custom Glass Shower Panel
  • Floor to Ceiling Mirror Hides Toileting Area

Clovelly Bathroom

Project Description

The Award Winning Clovelly Bathroom has taken out the award for 2015 HIA CSR NSW Large Bathroom of the Year & 2015 HIA CSR NSW Bathroom of the Year !

Seeking a bathroom retreat away from the main bathroom in this house of five children, the professional couple sought to redesign an unused room off the main bedroom of the residence.

This large bathroom masterpiece features a contemporary edgy monochrome palette which highlights the standout pieces of this ensuite.

With the clients’ desire for a truly show-stopping feature, the designer elevated the bathing zone on a raised platform, which was then clad in elegant ‘Bianco’ Carrara marble from Marble and Ceramic Corp. As the clients had already chosen the dark grey Design Republic tiles early on in the design process, this striking marble was chosen as the natural element to warm up the space while sticking within the monochrome palette. Louise O’Bryan, Houzz Australia

The Clovelly Bathroom can also be seen featured in Inside Out Magazine (May 2016), Houzz Room of the Day – A Marvellous Monochromatic Masterpiece, HIA Guide to Bathroom Planning & Design (2016).

Standout Features

  • Natural Light Highlights
  • Carrara Marble
  • Italian Imported Grey Floor & Wall Tiles
  • Gubi Round Leather Mirror
  • Vola Tapware
  • Freestanding Stone Bathtub
